Welcome to The Noise Resource Service

The Noise Resource Service has two main functions

¨ to assist people who are experiencing a noise problem

¨ To act as a resource for people wanting information on noise

Assisting you if you have a noise problem

So often when we have a noise problem we don’t know where to turn for help. Hopefully the Noise Resource Service will assist by acting as a sort of ‘route map’ that points you in the right direction. First thing though, if you have a noise problem, don’t suffer in silence (as it were!). If you don’t try to do something about it, it’s unlikely to go away. And remember, you are not alone. Thousands and thousands of people have noise problems. So people won’t think you odd if you complain.

We are not able to take on individual noise problems, but suggest you contact Noisedirect for further assistance.

A resource for information on noise

The resource service doesn’t claim to contain everything that’s ever been written on noise (which probably comes as a bit of a relief to you!). It does, though, have briefing sheets on different aspects of noise. It also has useful information on quiet products. And it has good links to other sources of information on noise.

We hope to build up the information we provide, so if there is any suggestions you may have on the sort of information you would have liked to see here then please let us know.  We will do our best to include it in the future.

Noise Direct is a good source of help.  These are professional practitioners and whilst they are not solicitors they have a very good knowledge of noise enforcement.  They have to charge a nominal fee for their time discussing your problem.  You can also visit their web site and look at some of the case studies they have helped to give you an idea of how they may be able to help you.
